Emi Tanaka is a certified Pop Pilates instructor. A native of Orange County, she grew up dancing and was a dance instructor for 8 years teaching ballet, tap, and jazz. After an injury, Emi began looking for alternative, low impact fitness formats. She took various classes in yoga and barre fitness when she came across Pop Pilates. She enjoyed how basic Pilates moves were choreographed to pop music, making for a fast-paced workout that strengthens the core. It not only gets your heart rate up, but it also increases flexibility and is a great way to relieve built up tension and stress. Most importantly, the class is inclusive and ideal for individuals with all capabilities, backgrounds, and fitness aspirations. Emi always strives to create a positive and welcoming experience for all. Emi is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from USC. Her love of helping others in various areas of life is a common thread in all her work. She is excited to be a part of Renew Fitness and for the opportunity to share Pop Pilates with everyone!
